you can do this in a number of ways:

    • you can make this character act a certain way around other people, in a very "let them eat cake" fashion.
      • or have other people act differently around him.... either gawking at him, or turning their nose up at him for examples
    • you can describe the way he dresses in contrast to the other folk
    • because he is wealthy, he has been well educated. you can give him a specific way of speaking to separate him from the common people
    • you can describe his house... perhaps its the largest in the city. perhaps it has Corinthian columns or a marble staircase. maybe statues line the driveway.
    • you can show his interactions with his house staff

it all depends on your characters personality, though. Maybe the character has been around wealthy people all their life and is naive/ignorant to how the other half lives. Maybe the character is a pretentious prick who thinks common people are menaces to society. Maybe the character is a kind philanthropist. these personalities, for example, will determine how your character show their wealth

(also, to address your poll.... all of those things would show wealth)

I think it's important what the character's actual character and personality are like. Is he/she arrogant and entitled, or humble and down-to-earth? A part of the elite 1% and flaunting the power, or 'one of us' just with more money? Or maybe some other choice I left out?

For instance maybe not elite, but snooty and takes the limo to the most exclusive health club and has martinis there while talking about his hedge fund investments for three hours after 10 minutes of non-sweating handball in a Gucci sweatsuit.

What I'm saying is, what kind of character is it, aside from being wealthy? That has everything to do with how you would show the wealth.

I think old money is more understated and less flashy than new money.

That really make sense a lot, you made me realize that I'm focusing on the wrong thing. I should've paid more attention to the character and the personality of those characters. Thanks champ!

Ps. I like your example, so accurate
