For my class, I am writing a humor essay. We weren't given any guidlines, other than to look at the work of other humorists (David Sedaris, Nora Ephron, Steve Martin...), and then it will, of course, be critiqued in class. I was thinking about writing my essay as a transcript. Very: Person A: blah blah blah Person B: hmm...yadda yadda [laughing] Person A: But yakkity yakkity yak... I know you aren't my professor, but would you say this is an acceptable way to write a humor article for a magazine? As long as it is something that would be considered an acceptable form for publication, I don't see her saying anything about me going too far out of the box. Thoughts?
