Name's Kaij. I'm Sai'Kaorii's--the real writer's--alter ego, but let's not delve into that. Huzzah for being schizo. (She doesn't like it when I call her schizo.) Anyway, I'm a tough-skin type of person and critique in a harsh way, you could say. I get down and dirty with someone's work, but I back up my reasoning for stuffs XP I'm twenty-years-old, work two jobs, have a novel in the progress, with more in line behind it. Oi, I'm sarcastic, but a lot of people love me for it. Which is awkward. I don't like it. How would you like it if you went up to someone and asked what's wrong with their toupee, then all of a sudden they guffaw and say, "Hai friend!" ...How the heck does that work out? I don't understand human behavior sometimes. Anyway, that's stuff on me. I ramble a lot.
Hello Kaij, Welcome to the Writing Forums. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Not really new... But I figured I'd pop in here all the same, as I'm not sure if much of you remember me. Unless I gave your writing a critique...then you'd probably never forget me. Anyway, I stopped writing for a long time...I suppose that spark in me just kind of died, and it took my muse with it. In any case, for the new year, one of my resolutions is to start writing for fun like I used to. Hopefully I can stick with it, as I do miss making my characters do my bidding. I've been reading a lot more as well--thrillers, naturally. So hello to all the new faces around here that I don't know, and hello to those that I remember, or whom remember me.
