Can anyone, or preferably everyone, help me with a creative way to say "unprofitable?" I have so far come up with "financially flat." Thank you so much.
A creative term would be best crafted within the context of the entity that you are describing. For example, the neighborhood ice cream vendor that went broke "melted under the competition from the new Dairy Queen" or the "small-time drug dealer snorted what could have been his margins." Finding the right way to phrase things needs to be within the context of the story and the character that is saying it.
Perhaps they have... substandard money management skills? Or someone has coloured the company spreadsheet red?
unviable, unfeasible, doesn't flap when it's up the flagpole, a loss-maker, a turkey, a surefire loser... I'm empty.
Would help to know territory for selling what?...but I'll take some shots at it anyway.... The territory was a wasteland.... The last sales rep to have that territory bused tables at Denny's for meals, and still lost thirty pounds in the three months he was out there.... Our last sales rep to take that territory drove out there in a Mercedes and back in a rusted out Honda Civic. Others?
