What are some of your hobbies? Besides writing.

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Cicero, Dec 19, 2007.

I like to compose music, and I like to paint. I love paintball, but it's expensive so I don't get to do it much. I like to walk around in nature, preferably in a place where as far as the eye can see, I can't view anything man-made. I, being the nerd I am, play Lord of the Rings Online, because it's awesome. I like to have deep philosophical conversations.

Now, what do YOU like to do?

I make wooden toys for children and give them to toy drives.
I write children's stories and give them to people with children.

I do ceramics, read, hunt, fish, go back roading.
I collect recipe books and am trying to compile one for friends.
    I chat on the internet.
almost forgot. I do a lot for cats. owned by 3.

    eoz is that a hobbie.
existing is no fun and hobbies are supposed to be fun.
now living is fun so that could be a hobby.

I used to be right into horse riding, breaking, training and showing, but I injured my back, became a mother and it got too expensive and I had no time.

Now it is driving, walking, music, motorbikes, photography, scrap booking and sculpting. I love watching motorcross and also boating and fishing I enjoy as well. Company depending though :)

Cooking - Chili, curries, seafood, pasta dishes, breads, even the occasional dessert
Photography - not as much recently. I used to have my own color darkroom, before digital photography
Software development - It's my job, but it's also a hobby I've enjoyed for decades
Electronics - haven't done much recently, but I used to build many of my own boards for my computers, and have built custom instruments when I was a chemist
Plastic models - mostly spacecraft, fictional and historical
Drawing and painting - never very good at it, but I still enjoy it occasionally
Hiking and non-technical climbing - I particularly love the rocky coast of Maine, and the mountains around Bar Harbor
Snorkelling - I'd love to try scuba, never have gotten around to it

Cog, if you ever feel like trying ice climbing down the road from me is apparently one of the worlds best places to do this sport.
We get people from all over the world climbing ice.
Now that is definetly a hobbie for the not faint of heart.
I love climbing the rocks when not ice covered but not with ice.

Me, I'm big into music, listening not playing. I probably bought 400-500 albums this year (I get to listen at work). I know you can get all these downloads but I suppose I'm a collector so like the original hard copies.

I love to make short films with my friends. My parents bought me some fairly nice equipment and I've taken several classes on film and am doing the tv course at my school. Its good fun and its recreational. If you want to see what I do, go to youtube.com/crazedbird... sorry I just had to say that. Its fun to have other people view your work.

That's a really interesting hobby, Terry.

I guess I 'raise' a Shingleback lizard and a Bluetongue lizard, and I plan to get an Eastern Water Dragon and a python!

    Reptile collector. ;)

More so than writing I play the bass guitar! Haha! Music is the best tool for individual fun. No contest.
