That's brilliant news. Well done! Hopefully the book is received well and remember, don't read the reviews! xD

Well in case anyone wants to see how it turned out here goes.
I said in the OP that I was really lucky to find a small traditional publisher that really liked my story. As it turned out I was more lucky than I knew and found a good one that also worked well with this first time author.
The paperback has been released and is now available on Amazon and will soon be also through all online book stores under the title Lincoln's Treasure. I truly hope anyone reading it enjoys it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I also hope anyone reading this thread realizes that there are publishers out there looking for well written mauscript even from a first time author.

Good luck to all of those who are struggling to find a publisher for your manuscript. It can and does happen but you've got to work hard to build a story that is interesting and well enough written to make a reader to want to read more.

Well if any of your are buying it, I appreciate it because it's already jumped up to Amazon ranking of 30,407 of the more than 9 million for sale there so somebody is buying it besides those I know about. It's not a gazillion but it's a good sign.

Congratulations. It must be an amazing feeling. Writing a novel that is published is my dream and the ambition that drives me.

@theoriginalmonsterman if you pop the title into a certain well known mass market on-line book store you will find the date of publication is in the very near future. It looks interesting too!

Yes it was released in paperback in February and the kindle version will be out next Friday. The publisher added an email address in the "About The Author" page and I'm already getting a few emails from readers. So far it's all been great feedback by readers who love the story!!!

Hopefully if any of you read it, you'll enjoy it also. I really enjoy reading comments from those who are reading it to see how the plot pulls them in with the twists and turns, so let me know what you think.

Thanks for all the congrats in the thread from all of you!

Don't forget you can put it in the bookstore. Then if we buy it the forum gets credit.

I did not know that. I've just searched and can't find anything showing how one adds book to the bookstore. Can someone point me in the correct direction?

I'm using an iPad to surf lately and it's not the best to use on our site so that may be part of the problem.

    Thanks

    Thanks GingerCoffee,
I am biased of course but believe its an exciting story with many twists and turns. So far the feedback I'm getting tells me readers are finding it to be as well.

Thanks Katherine and everyone else for your good wishes. :)

That's great! This gives hope to us all. I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain! How long did it take you to get your first draft complete? Did you "write bad" as in, write just to get it done then go back to edit it to make it the way you want? I find I spend the majority of my time wanting it to be amazing the first round that I spend so much time fining the right words and such.
