I know it's not being published, but it's still special, or at least to me. There is this gathering in Newcastle, called Pink Lane, it’s a gathering of writers, comics and singers from the area; everyone turns up, has a few drinks, sings some songs, reads some poetry and has a good time. Well ... last week was its 1 year anniversary. And guess who was first up! Me, reading out two poems! I was really honoured to be the first person up on Pink Lane’s first birthday! It was really special to me.
Lemex, that is really sweel! Would love to have been able to see that When i move to the city later this year i'm sighing up to a writers group (writing centre). Can only dream it would be as sweet. Here's to plenty more great times!
You know, I'd been turning over the idea of approaching some of my classmates to start a writing group outside school. I think it would be a lot of fun, and a good outlet/motivation for my own writing. Probably, though, I'll chicken out.
