Hello, I need to describe a situation when two people rub their chins against each other in a romantic way. I googled "rubbed chins" but apparently, it's not the right verb. How would you describe this?
People actually do this? It sounds uncomfortable and prickly should one of them be a man. If I had to pick a word... nope, I got nothing unless you go with "necking," though means something different, but the anatomy is close.
Nuzzled? Touched? On further look, the former has more to do with the nose than the chin, so "nuzzled" may not be what you're looking for either. Brushed?
Snuzzled? Whatever word you pick make sure to reference the chins. Also rabbits do chinning action for marking territory maybe you could tie that in as some kind of metaphor.
It’s officially known as the art of mentumry, a bit of light mandibbling before flared pouts they apucker for a four-lipped bit of writhing.
I didn't even know this was a thing. Why is it a thing? So random. Though I found this on vocabulary.com : Humans are unique in having a chin — it's thought to have evolved in part from our habit of using speech. When chin is a verb, it means to do a pull up on an exercise bar, lifting your full weight until your chin touches the bar. In the late 16th century, to chin meant to affectionately rub chins with someone else, and in 1880s American slang, it also meant "to gossip." And now I've officially looked at the word "chin" one too many times and it looks weird.
Now you've got me wondering whether, if they're both men with stubble, we're going to end up with a weird velcro moment.
Maybe this only happens when two people want to kiss, but both happen to simultaneously notice something interesting on the ceiling.
