    I need help...

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by OppositeAct, May 27, 2019.

Hello, I would like to know if there is someone who would like to help me with this interview. For some reason I have to interview a female writer but the best part is that she has to be someone who I don't know. I have a list of frequently asked questions on the interview and I would appreciate if someone could answer them. I'm pretty much screwed so... here goes nothing:

    Why do you write?

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

Who inspired you to write in the first place?

Can you describe what your ideal writing space looks like?

How do you decide what topic/subject to write on?

What do you think makes a good story?

What is your writing process like?

Do you have any unique writing habits?

    What are your current projects?

Do you hear from your readers much?

What kind of things do they say?

    Ty.

I will assume that all of those views were from male writers.

Hello. I'm not sure if you joined the forum because you are interested in becoming a writer, or are already a writer. However, you need to check out two sections of the forum before you get going.

The first one is our New Member Guide which should keep you on the right track till you've become more familiar with how we do things here. New Member Quick Start

The second is our Forum Rules section. These are Rules that apply to all members for the duration of their membership here. Forum Rules

The Rules section is immediately important for you, because I think you already missed one rule that's listed there. No schoolwork. School/University coursework is not allowed. So we would not be able to help you with your interview project.

However, I hope you joined the forum because you are interested in writing for yourself. If so, I hope to see you again! :)

Of course, I will work hard until I become a better member of this community. I'm sorry. This won't happen again.

You also need to remember that patience is a virtue. While we do have members from all around the world here, we have our own families, jobs, and schoolwork to tend to. An interval of a few hours between a request and a response isn't at all abnormal here, it can often take a day or more before someone who is in a position to help you even sees your request.

That being said, we look forward to seeing you around the site.

    Don't worry too much.

We all make mistakes. And many most innovative and interesting members are a bit difficult ones. But you know... It's like that in most creative environments. Creative folks are not easy to handle.

    And a hint:

If you must interview a female writer, try bloggers, journalists, self published authors who focus on your peer groups... Email directly to them - after cutting that list shorter. You can combine several questions.

Why do you + When did you + who inspired you ==>
What or who inspired you to become writer and how you see that inspiration now?

    Writing space + process + habits + topics ==>
Tell me about how your life and work relates to your texts.

Readers + things they say ==> What kind of feedback you get from your readers?

If you don't ask about current projects, that's 3 more open questions instead of 11 not so open. It might be easier to get answers that way and those answers might be more interesting.

Less is more in interviews. And you might get more.
