It's a game I just came up with in frustration at how many typos I'm finding in a professional publication, but on a more positive note, I think this could be a good way for everyone to practice editing for when it comes time to go over their own work. Basically, you share any typos you find in professional publications, and if you don't currently read enough publications to find any typos, then that's a sign that you need to look for more reading material. Would anyone be interested?
You mean newspapers, magazines, that kind of thing? Or are you including trad published books as well?
I'm not terribly bothered by a typo, but I really hate the 'ignorant' errors I'm finding a lot these days. "Loose" instead of "lose" is a biggie. And "affect" and "effect." I found that one just the other day, in an article, by a writer I honestly thought was more educated than that. But the author used it twice in the same article, so it wasn't a typo, unless his auto-correct was at fault.
