If I write a comic book, how can I determine the number of pages per chapter & chapters per volume?

Discussion in 'Research' started by skylar-eleventh, Dec 13, 2015.

This number seems to be different depending on the type of comic. Manga from Japan has a lot of pages per volume while American comics come with a lot more variation. I just want to know if there are any general rules when it comes to deciding how many pages to include in each chapter and how many chapters to have in each volume. How is the info organized into chapters and volumes for comics?

Perhaps you should look into the difference between Comic Books and Graphic Novels. Going to stretch my limited knowledge of the latter, but I think it is like a collection of 'short books' all tied together. Kind of like the Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov. Try researching the inner workings of both, so you can get a better idea of what/how you can go about it.
