I'd want to be Dr. Watson, Sherlock Holmes' sidekick. Not only would I get to experience all of the stories told by Dr. Watson, but also the many cases that were only mentioned in the books. Of course, I'd like to leave out some of the realities of the era, such as open sewage, cholera, and horrible air quality.
World Domination. Global Conquest. Supreme Ruler of the People of the Unififed Earth. I will be a gentle, mostly benevolent ruler. And my subjects will have the greatest standard of living ever known in human history. It will be a civilization based on high technology and the application of rigorous scientific methodology and enlightened thought, presided over by highly developed and capable minds. Once this society is established, and firmly in place, I would be willing to step down from my position of supreme authority to that of a regular citizen; much like Cincinnatus did for the sake of Roman republic. I dream of building a magnificent empire such as the world has never before witnessed.
Coruscant in Star Wars, I love the idea of a planet wide city. And besides I'll be up to date with all the happenings of the whole galaxy.
I'd like to join in if I could.... I have always wished I could play one of the sultry parts in the Broadway musical Chicago. What a rush that would be!
True. But your life expectancy may not be great. That would keep me out of Joe Abercrombie's world as well!
I think it's odd that, in a forum full of writers, most people seem to want to live in OTHER writers' fantasies! Don't you people have dreams of your own?
Especially in its current form. I mean... hell the whole of Westeros is plagued with war and... well Winter is coming.
I have no fantasies to speak of. No dreams. Either a sign of insanity or sanity, I'm not sure which. Does make one a very lazy person though and a very lifeless writer. Incidentally, don't think your delightfully sly efforts, earlier, went unnoticed: 'Oh, I wish my IQ was twenty points higher so I was like Einstein.' Einstein's IQ: give or take, 170. 170-20 = 150 'Oh look at me, look at me, I've an IQ of 150!' Outrageous!
Your sense of humor cracks me up. In response to the original post: My main fantasy is living in random old houses, fixing them up, and decorating and furnishing with no limit to funding or energy with no other intention than simply enjoying the beautification process. Hmm... Maybe have a hunky cowboy or two in the background somewhere to add to the scenery...
Thanks Marranda. As if to repay the compliment: In recent days your ridiculously cute baby has brought a smile to my face and your input in the in the games section has raised many chuckles. Quite unusual, you know, for a woman to be so willing to take part in games of that sort.
I didn't know that. I'd heard that Einstein's IQ was 160. Mine has been measured at 142. Sorry if I overestimated myself!
It'd have to be Final Fantasy IX. Greatest fantasy ever, if it were written well it'd be a masterpiece just like the game!
I have too many... Living in the Elder Scrolls universe. In my most prominent fantasy, the person I love loves me just as much, and we decide to leave everything behind and travel the world as wayward wanderers.
I wanted to be a ninja in the Naruto universe. It's a rough world but I think the Konoha ninja had a strong sense of camaraderie that really attracted me? Also, I can shoot fireballs out of my hands. Alternatively I would've really enjoyed living in the late 1700s. I am a huuuge fan of the American Revolution. And a lot of the historical figures I look up to lived in that time. It was an interesting time. ahahahaha
