Sorry, I know this is really random. Just wondering because I think they're adorable, and am considering getting one. or at least adding one into my writing. I was thinking maybe Elliot. Or Kirby, maybe Leonardo. lol. http://www.treehugger.com/Hedgehoglet%20from%20bored%20night%20photo.jpg
I would name it "Spike"...when I was mad at it, I would call it a little "prick", and when I was happy with it I would say "I'm stuck on you!" Get the "point"?
Personally I wouldn't name it Sonic, as I never actually played the game (never owned a Sega system). I would call it Bowser instead. =)
@Banzai: Parents name their kid Adolf Hitler, store denies them cake. The other kids are named JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/odd_hitler_cake;_ylt=AsU9lFZpYAPNdrlfKmvJqO3tiBIF The news are hilarious sometimes. PS: I name my stuff. My cellphone, laptop, guitar, bass guitar all have a different name. The rest of the band does the same. Does anyone else do this or do the four of us share the same kind of crazy?
I name my stuff: PC: The Evil Lair XBox 360: Boxy My favored controller: Betsy Desk: Woody Bed: Beddy My left hand: Lightning My right hand: Thunder Right foot: up Left foot: urs Yeah, I'm that creative
I personally don't think much of parents whop would name their kid Adolf Hitler Campbell. Regardless of whether that usis their idea of humor or they are pro-Nazi, they are dooming their son to hell in school and beyond. If that's not child abuse, it's damned close!
If their Pro-Nazi, and come from that community, there is a good chance they wont be going to a "normal" school or will be interacting with a "normal" community to be given hell. But if they are idiot parents that arnt rednecks and do have him going to school, then god yeah! Anyway name it SONIC!!! come on, like others i had ti go there!
Now this is quite a sad thread for me lol... I'm living in a student house at the moment and we had one in our garden, hadn't named it yet. Seems it fell into our pond the other night and drowned before anyone noticed... *cries* Shame, liked the little fella...
If it was a boy hedgehog, i would name him Nelson. If it was a girl hedgehog, I'd name her Mandela. Who knows why. And yes. My laptop's name is Sheila. My cat-in-the-hat's name is Sylvester. My car's name is Sally. My dad's car's name is Edgar. My mom's car's name is Bonnie. The three cars my sister has had's name's were Jimmy, Sally (same car), and Riley (girl). My phone's name is Angel. Because she's perfect.
before you get one, go read my poem, 'pet-lovers?' in the poetry section... better yet, here it is: so, why don't you just write about a cute 'n cuddly hedgehog, and leave all the lovely li'l critters out there in the wild, where they belong and can live a normal life? and if i were gonna write about one, i'd probably call it 'Stickly' or 'Pincushion' or something similar... love and hugs, maia
Probably 'Hermie'--for Hermione/Herman because I wouldn't choose to examine it closely enough to find out if it was a girl or boy. They CRAWL with fleas. I like symmetry: 'H...' the Hedgehog.
I'm going to resist the urge to call the hedgehog Sonic, Shadow or prickles (Trust me that was tough)... And go with either: Patrick, Winnifred, Higgle or Murtle I also love the name Horatio - so totally second that one!! I would also say that it's better to leave hedgehogs in their natural environment. There are a number of ways you can provide for them, and enjoy their cute little faces (that hedgehog in the OP's link was the cutest damn thing I'd ever seen!!!) without taking them out of the wild. Leave areas in your garden that are 'rough' (i.e. leave the weeds, don't tidy them and so on), don't use pesticides and leave a plate of cat food out every so often (yes, cat's will undoubtedly chow down too but hedgehogs do benefit and cat's don't mess with hedgehogs! ) There are also schemes in place to rehome hedgehogs that have been injured, got sick or had a run in with a car. You can help make your home into a 'release' centre if the local hedgehog population is good. Also, you can care for hedgehogs while they recover which can give you a great sense of hedgey-hoggy acheivement without displacing one of nature's mostly lovely creatures. If you want anymore info the British Hedgehog Preservation Society have a great website with lots of FAQs to help you take care of your local wild hedgehog population! All the best x
Fluffy! Come on, somebody had to say it. :/ ... There are no hedgehogs in my natural environment. Plenty of other things though. ... I'm assuming (perhaps incorrectly?) that the hedgehog the OP wants to get was probably raised in captivity and sending it out into the wild would be...well...a bad thing?
Ha. I remember being in Germany and walking down the street, and my mom got all excited "Look guys! It's a hedgehog!" and when we got over there, it was dead. Oops.
