    Covid Time

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by OOgie, Sep 24, 2021.

What's a retired vet to do when his dream of world travel is curtailed by a virus?
Write what he knows: Treating animals, motorcycle adventure, martial arts, chess, horses, world travel.

I was in China when Covid first hit. It got creepy. But now it looks like a virus that will become another seasonal flu. Let's hope.

Feel ya. Was in India on a solo month-long first trip.
    Surreal.
Two young Chinese women apologized for the virus. I apologized for my country's political lack of empathy.

Dude, that's a book right there, if you ask me.
Superhero veterinarian travels around the world with a motorcycle to fight a grandmaster who uses real animals for chess pieces.

    You can have that.
Just promise me I can do the voice of the bike when they film it. The bike should be sentient.

Hugh Lofting came up with the notion of a medical doctor who had learned to talk to animals. Hence, Dr. Dolittle was born in the trenches of World War I to
    help spend time.
Since going 'off to Africa' to bring back the unique -puhmepullyou has been taken, I'm off to space for an entire planet's worth of unique animals. Toss in corporate malfeasance, planetary aberrations, a teenage girl in search of answers, and an old vet with life lessons and a sense of humor... formula = Covid pass the time.
If you are into motorcycle adventure, check out the "Adventure Rider' website. I go/went as Birddogvet. Trips cross country, down to San Jose, Costa Rica, Peru, and tongue-in-cheek reasons not to buy a map. Since India, the wife and the new dog have had to put up with me.
Will take auditions for dirt bike 'green, grin, grin, grin, grin' and motorcycle roars, if this current project ever makes it to audio.

One day soon I hope to find beta readers to find holes in the story before sending the thing off to an editor.

I come from a family of Harley enthusiasts, so I'm not too versed in the language of dirt bikes. But I will check out the website for preliminary research.
