I'm Nobu, and I supposed I joined this site because I'm looking for a community to discuss my writings. I have no grand ambitions, nor high expectations of any kind. I'm just hopelessly enchanted and addicted to storytelling. But, the more I read, the more I struggled to voice my thoughts. I have impeccable taste in art & literature, which makes any attempt at writing agonizing because my paltry skills will never meet my qualifications. But more than anything, I still get enjoyment from the sheer entertainment my friends receive from my story telling. I thrive on that. But unfortunately, it makes it difficult for me to get outside critique or commentary when I'm creating it for them. The magic & presentation is less enthralling when you can see the wizard behind the curtain nervously playing at knobs & fiddling with switches. I hope to be a help if in anyway I can, and hopefully I can find some one or another to discuss the features and flaws of my own writing. Regards
Flaws are inevitable, it is to be human. Perfection is the impossibility left up to deities. I know it are a bit late, but welcome to the trenches. (It doesn't take a master word smith to produce a good yarn.)
Hey, don't despair before you started! Writing grows on you - or you grow on writing, depending Stick around, write, post something for critique and you'll see that we are all imperfect. @Cave Troll told it right: Perfection is for deities and we are all human. But it shouldn't deter from striving for it
Thank you all for being so warm & welcoming I've actually been actively writing since I was little, because I've always been imaginative & simply loved stories in all their forms It's just as I've gotten that I became more critical and analytical. I was profuse and content when I was as equally ignorant Now it's taken me six months to write three paragraphs (two of which only comprise of a single sentence) (>人< But thank you all for the kind words & encouragement. I look forward to getting to know all of you and giving & getting feedback of works
And now that the Welcome Wagon has made an appearance.... Be sure to have a gander at the links in the PM you will have received from me upon joining. Very important to read the Forum Rules as they contain more than just our rules. Therein you will find information about member accounts and also our Writing Workshop. Have the fun. Wrey
I have, thank you very kindly. I've clicked on the various links and read as much of the details of the rules & procedures as I can. I have no qualms waiting to be able to post or share my works, and I am more than happy to first contribute my time and critique to help improve the works of my fellow members. I'll do all in my power to abide by the various rules (although admittedly I'm finding it more difficult than I hitherto thought to keep only to English).
You're not the only one. I'm a polyglot and I work as a professional interpreter. Sometimes my love for different languages gets the better of me and I have to check myself.
