    Is it worth mentioning in a query letter that...

    ...you have been published in an electronic magazine before? I ask this because there are many electronic magazines that seem barely better than posting your stories on your blog, so I'd like to know how the publishing world sees it.

    Is it something decided on a case-by-case basis or is there some major taboo against referencing those electronic magazines?

    Did you get paid for it (in cash, copies, etc.)? If you did, then I would definitely mention it. If you didn't, then consider how reputable that magazine is and act accordingly.

    I agree with Thirdwind. Any paid work is good work. Any free work is only as good as the publication it's in.
