Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by ryan9112, Jul 29, 2014.

Hello i am ryan. i don't really know how to do this but here goes.
i have always been good (judged by former teachers and friends) in english especially in creative writing.
i am currently in school but still 1 more year till i major in english.
i want to post something i have written and be judged harshly without sugar coating.
and i wanted to read what others wrote and try to critique them.
so i just wanted to know one thing. is this the forum i am looking for?
ps* sorry for my bad grammar and internet talk ,but it is 1 am at the moment and am a bit tired..:p

Hi, @ryan9112, and welcome to the forum! Please read the New Member Quick Start Guide, participate, and have fun.

Yes, you've come to the right forum. You can post your own work for critique here, and you can critique the work of others. You do have to satisfy a few requirements before you can post your own work, though, and they are explained in the link I just gave you. The requirements are easy to satisfy, though, and very worth your while. :)

There's really not a right and wrong way to critique. As long as you put in the effort and aren't rude, you should be fine. My advice is to look at some of the critiques in the Workshop to see how other members do it.

    Also, welcome to the forum!

As @thirdwind said, just look at some of the other critiques. You'll see what other members do and what's expected. And don't worry about still being in school. We have other members who are still in school, too, and they do fine!

    Good luck! :)
