Hello there, I'm very new to writing prose, but have been a poet and lyricist for as long as I can remember. Previously all my attention was put into poetry and music until an accident that left a lot of damage on my ears. I always loved concept albums and would write these mad songs that were all linked together, but what I slaved over was the words. These days I spend less time on my music, both to save my ears a bit and also because I'm less inspired at this moment and find myself more and more drawn to writing a story. Perhaps music was a byproduct of my desire to write this whole time. It does seem to feel that way. Music and the written word go so well together anyway, and my abilities as a songwriter, musician and poet are well developed, currently making my living as a session musician and teacher. However, my story telling abilities are about as sharp as a pestle, and I'd really like to improve. Especially in regards to the technical side of things and general pacing and dialogue issues. So hello, Eager to read, eager to write. Look forward to speaking with you all, HRT. ------ From the top we could fall Deeper and deeper in red coloured mountains And taste Things from before, Hear out the future and speak in reply That we know Nothing at all. So all we can do is float on together In the arms Of nature and men Who pick us from trees and dispose of our bodies And wonder, How come they want it so bad? They didn't notice that the walls were rising up.
Welcome! We have some fine poets on the site and plenty of storytellers, so you'll be in good company.
