I'd say to just read as much as possible in your genre, it really does greatly improve your writing and style and what works tends to stick with you.
I agree with with @Joshua Robinson , for the most part. Also you need to do a bit of writing as well. Best way to get better at the writing bit, is to write a lot too. Welcome to the Forum. Good luck and have fun.
