Any Recommendations on History of Oral Storytelling?

Discussion in 'Discussion of Published Works' started by NoGoodNobu, Sep 6, 2019.

I am getting into writing and producing a video essay on the 2006 film Penelope, and one of the subtopics would be on discussing its reimagining of Homer’s epic The Oddyssey but how it’s framed in a fairy tale style & aesthetic.

I’m interested in researching the oral storytelling tradition of Greece and of European fairy tales.

If anyone has any specific works of note I should look into, I sincerely appreciate any recommendations.
