    Modern Aesthete: Call for Submissions.

Discussion in 'Publisher Discussion' started by searider, Jul 13, 2007.

I'm a poetry and fiction writer helping to start a new, small publication company, and one of our first projects is a online and print publication. We are based in Raleigh, NC, but would love submissions from anywhere. I wasn't sure where exactly to post this, so I thought publishing was the best option. Below is a copy of our brochure-like info. The site is currently undergoing some remodeling, but the submission guidelines are still posted in brief at our website. I'm quite excited about the project, and look forward to going through submissions. Thanks for your time, and best of luck with all your publications!

    Modern Aesthete: The Publication

A new publication, print and online, is looking for submissions for the summer issue. We are accepting submissions through Sept., but as soon as a certain number of pieces are accepted all additional submissions can carry over for next year's selections if you desire. All genres, at lengths under 20 pages, will be accepted. Local and cultural stories, news, or plays, are especially encouraged, as well as experimental artistic styles. Imagist and music oriented poetry, and prose, are also encouraged. Photos and artworks are accepted, as well as short films. More information can be found at our website modernaesthete.com, or by responding in email to cjcorbet@modernaesthete.com.

Payment for accepted submissions will come in either a complimentary copy, or an opportunity to read/display your piece in a publication post-release performance (in which you may sell/promote your book or visual art works). Copies of our publication, Modern Aesthete: The Publication, will be available for audience purchasing at the event.

We seek permission to include your submission in the upcoming issue, online and/or print publication, and permission to include your submission, after acceptance, in our publication archives, and in any future anthology of the publication. Multiple submissions are accepted, meaning you may send in as many submissions as you please. Simultaneous submissions are also accepted, we only request that you tell us in advance that you have sent your piece elsewhere, and that inform us if you are accepted elsewhere as soon as you can.

All submissions will receive, upon request, a short critique of the piece(s) upon acceptance/rejection from our editors.

Thanks, in advance, for your submissions, and look forward to seeing it published!
