Hello, i am kibou. i am really new to writing and i dont have good literature skills. i want to create something like Japanese Light Novel, comedy one. I hope everyone in here wants to help me with this project
Yo, I'm also writing a light novel of sorts. Each volume should hover around 50k ish and there's a few planned, but mine is more of a mystery series. What aspect of the light novel are you aiming for.
Comedy one. 50k ? wow, that's a lot. I want to create LN that simple and easy to read. May i know your plan for your LN ?
40k-5ok words is fairly average for a light novel so that's my target range.. I own and have read several. I'm doing the first draft for camp nano. There's a cabin you can join us here in the forums if you like. You set your own goal for the camp and chat with others all working together. As for mine, I'm writing and illustrating it myself. It's a mystery series based on Lovecraftian mythos and The Yellow King mythos with a side of romantic drama. I'll publish a number of volume that are sort of independently readable, but also tell the whole of a story. For comedies though I do have some recommended reading. The Devil is a Part-timer and Konosuba would be up your alley if you haven't read a lot yet. I know they tend to be hard to come by those little buggers. I also like Haiyore Nyaruko-chan, but it's only available in Japanese and Korean as far as the actual novel goes. The anime is available in English sub though.
Well, i am anime and manga junky, so i have watched and read all of that LN you listed there. My problem right now is, i dont have good writing skill. i read an article that said "Dont follow translated novel format of LN in Baka Tsuki or other translation site. If you want to write a novel, write it in English literature format.". I read some of that translation like in here, and what in my mind when i decide to write novel is using this kind of format. So, what do you think should i do ?
The format is fine, just don't limit yourself to the language too much. Take advantage of the flexibility of English. A good place to start is to make a plot outline though. Once you know the beginning, middle, and end of your story it's way easier to write.
