Master Class videos by Neil Gaiman

Discussion in 'General Writing' started by Aled James Taylor, Feb 23, 2019.

Has anyone here watched these? If so, what are they like? I'm not exactly a beginner at writing but would like to improve. Do the videos just have basic advice to help people get started or are there advanced insights included?

I keep getting these ads--not just for Neil Gaiman, but all sorts of people--and I'm curious too. They're too expensive for an impulse purchase, but they almost seem too cheap for it to be likely for them to be useful?

Maybe we should pool our pennies and get an all-access pass for the forum.

I too, can attest to this. His seminars are fabulous. FAB and FREE. Has anyone found anything comparable?

I have watched his whole course and really enjoyed it. There is a lot of basic advice given but a lot of great insight too. I signed up for a year of Masterclass and have gone through a few full courses including Dan Brown and James Paterson. Watching a video before I dive into my own writing is actually great inspiration. It gets you excited to write. I've also done parts of Margaret Atwood, David Baldacci, and R.L. Stine (who goes against almost all other advice). It's just interesting to listen to some of the most successful people in an industry talk about how they execute their craft in such detail. I've done some of Gordon Ramsey's classes too! And they are constantly adding new courses on there. $180 for a year seems worth it to me, although I'll probably just do the one year.

Bookmarked. I'm definitely interested in Neil Gaiman's course.
