Match a song verse to the last

Discussion in 'Writing Prompts' started by rktho, May 12, 2017.

So the thing here is to find a song verse that fits subject-wise with the last one, like it would be the next verse. You can use any lyrical part of the song-- bridge, verse, intro, chorus-- as long as it follows the last one. I'll go first.

And if the night is burning
    I will cover my eyes
For if the dark returns then my
    Brothers will die
And as the sky was falling down it crashed into this lonely town and
With that shadow 'pon the ground I
    Hear my people screaming out

As the red day is dawning
And the lightning cracks the sky
They'll raise their hands to the heavens above
    With resentment in their eyes

Running back through the mid-morning light
There's a burning in my heart
We're banished from a time in a fallen land
To a life beyond the stars

Give me time I will be clear.
    Given time you'll understand
What possesses me to right what you have suffered.
I'm in this mood because of scorn.
I'm in a mood for total war.
To the darkened skies once more and ever onward.
