Medieval and Renaissance Swordsmanship and Related Topics

Discussion in 'Research' started by ARMAScholar, Jun 25, 2014.

    Hello all,

Going to introduce myself here. I am a researcher and martial artist with ARMA, the Association for Renaissance Martial Arts. (www.thearma.org) If you haven't heard of us, we are an educational non-profit that focuses on the reconstruction of medieval and renaissance combat systems from extant sources
which were mostly written between the 15th-17th centuries, though some are earlier.

ARMA has as it's focus the development of actual real-world skills in various now extinct fighting systems from the late medieval and renaissance periods.

As many writers set their stories in historical, or fantasy settings which feature swords, swordsmanship, or combatives from or inspired by this era, I am dropping by to let aspiring writers on the forum here know I am making myself available to answer any questions you may have related to medieval and renaissance swordsmanship, martial arts, martial culture, weapons, armor, or other related topics, and to assist in research related to these topics you may be currently undertaking for any of your writing projects.
