The purpose of the thread is to make it possible to report minor problems without having to create new threads for every little issue. Larger problems that may require discussions are best kept in separate threads with the Bug Report prefix. When posting a bug report please include a detailed description of how to recreate it or where to find it. Also, attach a picture that shows the issue if that is possible. You may also check against the known bugs to see if the issue has already been reported.
Here are a first couple of bugs: [Solved] The forum site map (available as a drop down link in the menu bar) doesn't seem to have a background colour which makes it pretty impossible to read: Spoiler: Site map bug [Solved] On a phone (or in a narrow browser window on a computer) the "latest" label is misspelled as "lateset": Spoiler: 'Lateset'
There is a problem with the Workshop drop down that is similar to the forum site map bug. While in some areas of the forum (like the the main board) it seems that the drop down background isn't high enough: Spoiler: Workshop drop down Update: Fixed in most areas, though still present on the "Resources" and "Donate" pages. [Solved] I'm not sure if this next one is a bug or not but I'll mention it anyway. Earlier, clicking on your name in the upper right corner showed a drop down with not only a lot of profile settings links but also your user name, avatar and a link to view your profile. The upper part of this (avatar, name, etc.) is now missing (and I think the same thing goes for the other drop downs, though I can't remember what was at the top of those). Spoiler: Username drop down
[Solved] The link "Top of Page" of at the bottom of the site (when reading a thread) is linked to the top of the forum board (writingforums.org/#top), not the top of the thread (e.g. https://www.writingforums.org/threads/minor-bug-reports.137757/#top).
Weirdness with the reply function. Instead of quoting the post I hit reply on, it quoted a different post by the same person. I tired twice, it wasn't just a mistake I was making. Edited to remove the second issue, I figured that one out.
[Solved/Disabled]The "Author Information" box that can be seen to the right when viewing a member's posted resources (example: Link the Writer's resources) seems to be mixing the information of the resource author and the member viewing the page. Here's an image to show what I mean: Spoiler: Author Information "Joined" shows the date that Link the Writer joined, while the other three lines (gender, occupation and location) show my information.
The case of the strike through tribbles Win 8.1 64-bit FF 38.0.5 If you edit a post, 2 x strike through buttons appear in the edit popup window. (Hang on, just confirming via a post / edit cycle). [Edit] If I then edit and strike something out. [Edit] Save changes, then re-edit, there are now 3 strike through buttons. [Edit] Make another change, and now there are 4. [Edit] Another change and there are 5. [Edit] Yet another edit and now there are 6. They are cute and cuddly and make a little squeaking sound, but I can assure you, captain, they are a menace in the galaxy and should be vented through the airlock as soon as possible!! [Solved] Spoiler: Screen shot I can confirm that subsequent strike through operations are not necessary for ongoing tribble reproduction.
[Solved] So am I the only one who can't put a capital letter in a thread title except the first word? It would appear something changed yesterday afternoon, if that helps.
Am I the only one who has to revote on polls? Everytime I go back to the thread and it asks me to vote again.
No, that has to do with the way the poll is set up. If the default settings are left, they allow the voter to change votes. That's what causes the poll to revert to what you are seeing, but your vote is still counted unless you change it.
[Solved] There seems to a be lack of spacing at several different places where there used to be space/margins/padding (see the images). I think this bug appeared at the same time as the thread title bug @GingerCoffee reported. Spoiler: Screen shots
[Solved] The title prefixes were missing in the short story contest when I just posted a new contest thread.
Erm, I tried uploading a new avatar because I don't want to use my Facebook avatar here too, but it won't allow me to click okay. Also, I noticed that when I clicked the emote button when writing my own thread, the emote list would not come up. I use Chrome, in case you need to know that.
Are both of these bugs still present or were they one-time things? (I can reproduce neither when I try in Chrome.) Also, if the bugs are still there you could try to clear the browser cache and cookies (in case there is some broken script laying around or something).
Weird, I had cleared the cache before posting that and it hadn't worked. Tried again and it did. Oh well, it works now.
Is it intentional that the sidebar is visible on the view-topic page for the Publishing section? Example: Link: https://www.writingforums.org/threads/im-finding-it-frustrating-to-find-agents-publishers-because.141180/ Screenshot: https://gyazo.com/fd5d2b28454a0f34237ad492b15a0e2d It looks a little bit cluttered on my monitor, and is a bit disconcerting since the sidebar is not there for any other sections I've noticed.
Ah, that's good to know. I like the sidebar on other pages though (such as the homepage and the view-forum page). It's just ra bit weird to have it only visible for topics in one section.
I have tried to create my first blog post, (from my blogs, Create your first post) when I click on create it tells me my changes are saved but there is no sign of my blog entry. Unless there is a delay. In which case I have just posted four identical blog posts! Edit: still no luck, but interestingly it does seemed to recognise the category I created, but still says I have no blog posts. Will try from another browser (using chrome at moment) Edit: No luck using firefox either. Perhaps there is a TediousBlog robot that deletes boring blog posts before they ever go live? EDIT: it works today! Thank you if someone has fixed something. Thank you gremlins, if it did it all by itself
I have a long conversation going, but when I open a new message it goes to the first page rather than the last page every time
@Boger: Yep, I see it to (on my profile and yours both). Looks like there's an additional profile field when you edit your profile, too. Looks like there's an additional profile field on top of the built-in XenForo gender field.
