Monsters, Maces and Magic: Outpost (LitRPG Fantasy)

Discussion in 'Success Stories' started by TWErvin2, Feb 17, 2018.

The first novel in my new LitRPG Series Monsters, Maces and Magic: Outpost has been published.

It is currently available for ebook preorder for a discount (release date is March 7).
The print book is now available.

If you enjoy reading fantasy and/or have ever played any fantasy RPGs, Outpost might be right up your alley.

Here is the Kindle Pre-Order link: Monsters, Maces and Magic: Outpost (ebook)
Here is the Print book order link: Monsters, Maces and Magic: Outpost (print)

I will post updates as they become available. Don't hesitate to post comments or questions if you have them.

Note: The second novel in the series is due out in April.

Congratulations! Are they being traditionally published or self-published?

The first novel's ebook is coming out on my birthday . . . makes me tempted to buy it just 'cus :D.

    Elven Candy,
Thanks for taking a look. To answer your question, traditionally published.

If you enjoy fantasy and/or RPGs, it might be a good fit, and worth giving a try. In any case, enjoy your upcoming birthday!

Thanks! I'll definitely look into buying it--and double congratulations on the traditional publishing! I know that's very difficult to get.

    Elven Candy,
If you do get a copy, I look forward to your thoughts. I will say that so many aspects to writing and being an author offer pretty major challenges, no matter what route a writer attempts/chooses.

I can't promise I'll remember to tell you my thoughts--or that I'll have time to read it right away. Life's gotten rather crazy these last several months and it only seems to be getting crazier!

I totally agree about the challenges of being an author--even self publishing!

I just finished the book and enjoyed it--I really like the characters (Derek can be a real sleaze sometimes, but he has a good side too). I've never role-played before so some RPG terms went over my head, though not enough to make me dislike the book (and not understanding every tiny detail is better than massive info dumps everywhere). I plan to buy book 2 when it comes out. How many are you planning for this series?

    Elven Candy,
Thank you for giving Outpost a shot. Many LitRPG authors would consider my novel LitRPG "Lite" but I wanted my novel accessible to fantasy readers and LitRPG readers. Maybe I struck the right balance, from your statement. And yes, Derek could be a jerk.

Book 2 is slated for release on April 4. As to how many books in the series? My guess would be 6-8. I pretty much know how it will end, but don't know exactly how long it will take to get there.

Also, if you could post a review on Amazon, that would be cool. Reviews do make a difference.
Again, thanks for reading and taking a moment or two to comment here. :)

I absolutely agree about reviews and I do intend to leave one, but not until my body adjusts to the new Daylight Savings time--I just can't seem to sleep well or focus and I don't want to leave a poorly written review (my reviews aren't the best written as it is).

I noticed one reviewer mentioned that the characters didn't upgrade at all in the first book and I have to admit that's something that bothered me as well until I remembered there's a second book. I'm looking forward to seeing the difference their ranking up will make!

Yes, there is rank advancement (leveling up) in the second novel. The characters didn't earn enough experience points to do so in the first novel.

And I look forward to your thoughts, after the adjustment for Daylight Savings Time clicks in. I always have the Monday following the spring event without a test or quiz for my students, although in the past the state of Ohio's dept. of Education did proficiency test starting the Monday after. :(
