That is an impressive and imposing list. I have that issue with two books in progress, plus occasional minor writing projects from time to time.

Do you try to stay with one, but get stuck and go to another? Maybe use the other as an excuse to avoid a complicated paragraph in the first, and so on? Perhaps you should limit your projects to the two or three you find most interesting, or are the most timely, etc. Just a suggestion.

    Pretty much I do

The progress update on that lot is :

"After the wave " reached first draft, got self edited, and is nearly ready for Betas ( My alpha caden suggested some changes which I haven't yet implemented) that's resting so I can give it another edit with fresh eyes before it goes to beta reading

"Honest intent" - Dusty Miller #1 (novella) is essentially finished , that's with Caden and Milly for an Alpha/Beta read ahead of proof and release - that will be out soon

"Darkest storm" Dusty Miller #2 (novel) is the current project - currently I've written about 45k words of a target 70k.

The plan is that I'm going to release HI, then bring DS to first draft, move to finishing ATW and send that for editting ahead of release, then come back to self edit DS with fresh eyes before sending that to be editted. I'm not starting any more projects until those three are released.

Once those are out of the way my next projects will be

Cold Fury Dusty Miller #3 (novel)
1 second to midnight Dusty Miller #4 (novel)
and 'Writing fighting #1' (non fiction series for writers)

That should take me to about september next year

Then I'll move on to my Battle of Britain series because I want to start putting them out from July '19 to tie into the 80th anniversary.

Of course as someone who's ex services I'm well aware that no plan survives exposure to reality

That is way cool. I'm a big BoB buff. My favorite plane is the bf 110. A BoB series has my interest.

Strictly speaking its a WW2 series - only the first book "Gladiators" (all of them are named after planes) deals with the battle of france and the battle of britain ..... I don't plot but I've got outlines for these written down just to get them out of my head .... the rest of the series are Lysander, Typhoon, and Mustang (with a possible 5th excursion into the Korean war Sabre Dog)

Your Battle of Britain series, on the 80th, if it can make that time frame will be pretty cool. :)

Another 1097 into DS tonight. Dusty has just confronted a mountain lion in the woods . He didn't kill it, it was a tension building scene rather than rock and roll action

    Next scene

Dusty : "The woods are clear, 'part from fucking pumas"
Aldo: "Yeah it's not a good idea to fuck pumas"

709 words tonight. Aldo and Joe have just reunited ... now our band of brothers just need to get across the Canadian border. You can bet that isn't going to be simple.

2694 into DS tonight - our band of heroes have just taken on 24 federal security goons in a pitched battle and won. Next up time to do something about the helicopter that is running in to investigate.

    Quote of the day

Lake:I'm sick of playing cat and mouse with these fuckers, the mouse never wins
Dusty: Time to play cat and rat, rats have big fuck off teeth

    Another 1695 into DS tonight.

Just shot down an AH6 helicopter with a sniper rifle. Dusty tempted it to come to hover by 'stupidly' (so it seemed) engaging it with a P90 , then while it was shooting at him Lake put a round through its turbine.

Then it nearly crashed on Dusty - which fate he evaded by jumping off a cliff.

(Maybe I should sell the film rights - this is shaping up to be a "if it appears on screen its toast in 30 seconds" story )

Just like Arnold in Commando! Shame I can't find a youtube clip, but right before he steals the plane he finds a picture of it hanging on the wall, hands it to his female partner, and quips, "Look, it's a picture of the plane."

    Pure gravitas. And informative.

522 into Ds tonight, but its not that much progress since it was a rewrite of the section I wrote on the 4th , still I'm moving forward again after a week or so wrestling with my depression leaving me too tired to write

    Quote of the day

Beth : What kind of reservation is it
    Aldo: Indians
Beth : I go that far, I didn't think it was dinner at the four fucking seasons

Your float plane comment reminded me of the old WW II PBY Catalina. Its one of the lesser known but neat planes I like to view when visiting the AF Museum near Dayton, OH.

Funny how reading things makes connections. Anyway, hope your characters' heist went well. Well meaning it added interest and complications to the plot!

total word count now 53953 ( I know it doesn't add up, that's because I've been editing as I go)

Our protagonists are now about to steal a float plane :D ( I know I said that before but they got a bit delayed by a boat chase and gunfight on Lake Superior, like you do )
