Cold Fury first draft complete at 72,569 - 6k today

that's 72,568 words in 36 days - a tiny bit more than 2k per day. Lower than my normal rate, but thats because there were a number of days in that 36 where i didn't write at all

 

Its been a few days since i updated this - but I have been making the second rewrite/edit to my fantasy novel Dark Fire. That is now with Beta readers for the second time (when it was originally beta read it was 56k long, it is now 110k).

In the last couple of days I have started work on the sequel Dark Hawk - which now stands at 4017 words

 

I haven't felt like writing for the last few days - ive been working on blue flag applications at work which is a lot of typing, and haven't wanted to do more when I got home. However tonight I've been working on Dark Hawk and a now at 6,129 - for about 2k tonight.

 

Dark Hawk now 9109 - near 3k tonight

 

Dark Hawk now 11,579 - 2.4k today

 

Dark Hawk now 13,371 that's in the region of 1.8k tonight

 

Dark Hawk now 15,230 - in the region of 1.9k tonight

 

Since its that time of year I'll just briefly review my goals for 2019

Overall i had a productive year but published fewer than i intended, partly due to an evolving strategy and partly through having less time to devote (that was due partly to becoming a moderator - which takes up a lot of time, and partly due to work and personal life things)

2019 goals below with comments in blue (as ever I self publish by choice so when i say publish i mean self publish)

In 2019 I will

County Lines (Dusty #6) delayed by an extensive rewrite but now ready to publish - ought to drop in the next few days

Double Trouble Jonny Wleckawski PI #1 - now titled Broken Promises - ready to drop but waiting for the third in trilogy for a quick release strategy
Double Game Jonny Wleckawski PI #2 now titled Missing Persons - ditto

Finish writing and possibly publish

Wild justice (Dusty #8) completed, currently with editor
Dark Fire completed, beta read, rewritten adding circa 45k words, currently with beta readers for the second time
Boot strap author (non fic) now at 65k but parked for now. ( I need to get more sales on my novels to give credibility to releasing a book for writers)

Write/finish first drafts for

Day of the eagle First draft complete
Midnight rising (Dusty #9) not yet written to to other projects
Double dare (Jonny Wleckawski PI #3) now called Endangered species, first draft complete
Devils breath (Hawke #6) first draft complete
