It's been a while since I saw it, but I remember it as good B-Movie fun. Nothing spectacular, but if you're a Bruce Campbell fan, you'll enjoy it.
I saw the movie Free Guy yesterday. I liked it very much. Free Guy is as if the Truman Show and Ready Player One had a child to be raised by Back to the Future
I’ve been putting off watching The Godfather films for weeks - months if you count how long I’ve owned them - but I’m about to take the plunge.
I enjoyed it - not a pleasant film but how could it be? I’m looking forward to part II tomorrow. I know it’s generally regarded as the best of the trilogy, and it has one of my all time favourite actors in Robert De Niro - long before he became the movie whore he is now.
I still haven't seen Part II. A lot of it is in Italian, which is subtitled into Japanese here. Same with "Sophie's Choice," lots of German and Polish that I can't get. Things to do on my next vacation, I guess.
I don’t think it’s a better film than the first, but I do think it might be a greater one. De Niro is incredible in it.
For those that haven't it's certainly worth experiencing Von Trier's much forgotten masterpiece Melancholia. And afterwards, this great analysis:
Not seen it. I’ve not bothered with much of his stuff, probably since Jackie Brown - I think that was probably his last respectable role. I’ll check out the trailer, though.
Yeah, if it meant that much to me to see. I've got a region-free DVD player, but getting a US or Euro copy of the film would probably run $30-50 and I just don't care that much.
Well that’s all three Godfather films watched. Just finished III and have to say while I agree it’s the weakest, it wasn’t the mess I’d been led to believe. It was a little more complex than my brain / attention span can cope with these days, and by the time the film reached the big opera finish I had no idea who was who and what their intentions / motives were.
I love The Godfather trilogy and all of Mario Puzo’s books, but my favorite mafia movie is Goodfellas. I also really enjoy Kill the Irishman. I was kinda let down by I Hear You Paint Houses though. I haven’t sat down to watch any new movies in awhile. Rewatched The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly a few weeks back. Always worth the 3 hour investment.
"Old is a 2021 American thriller film written, directed, and produced by M. Night Shyamalan." Well, that's all I needed to know. Staying home with Netflix this week.
Alien, the director’s cut. No idea if it’s considered superior to the theatrical. It’s that long since I saw the film I’m pretty sure I won’t even notice the additional scenes.
Watched San Andreas (with The Rock), and then re-watched 2001. Almost had to re-wire my brain in the interval in between.
