Can I ask what your cast list and glossary is about? Just for tips, if you want to share it of course.

The cast list is a list of most of the characters, everyone worth mentioning without getting too long, and a brief description of them. The glossary is an explanation of some of the language since I have some heavier historical dialogue than most fiction. The cast list is seven pages, the glossary is two. Just short extras. I was somewhat inspired and used as a point of comparison the cast lists and other extras in Wolf Hall and A Song of Ice and Fire, both books with similarities in terms of being complex period political stories. My cast list is muuuch shorter than ones in A Song of Ice and Fire, so I think I'm safe.

9770 words now. My goal is to finish the dining scene by the end of the weekend and chapter 3 by next week hopefully. And to produce multiple hundred words per week again, aiming for a few thousand next week maybe. Been slow this last two weeks.

9897 words not including. Did some editing and some things went down, but I've been trying to perfect the representation of the early Robert/Essex dynamic as mostly friendly so the rivalry arc feels more impactful. If one of the main plot threads is the breakdown of their relationship I think it's important they have something to lose; emotional stakes, and that the audience feels the change is genuine rather that superficial. Am very slowly progressing on the dining scene still, getting there a snail's pace. Hopefully I can kick it up now.

To be clear I want there to be pre-exisiting tensions and not particularly strong affections, hence what I previously wrote, but I think there was too much negative and not enough positive. The balance should feel weighted positive so later when it's weighted negative there is a major change.

Finished a version of the dining scene. Not sure if I will add to it or edit it more, probably at least a few little changes at some point. But I have a rounded version now that I can move on from somewhat.
    Took my damn time.
