    i'm very impressed really.
    headings are well thought out.
    but appearance is not modern.
it looks like any forum thats been around for years.

well, it HAS been around for years... and why does it have to be 'modern'?... we're serious writers who come here to work and help each other, not to be trendy...

seems to me that since the vast majority of us are comfortable with the appearance and it works well for us, why change it simply to appear what you think would be more 'modern'?...

I think you may find the user is referring to the default vB layout.

We have been around for a while... since 2006. :D

I'm assuming your critique was based on the default vbulletin style (which I'm not a fan of). We do have a new style now (WF 3 in the style drop-down in the footer). If you have any specific suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Why not make the WF3 theme the site loading default instead of the vb one

It is set as the default. If you see the default vbulletin skin as the default theme, try clearing your cache and cookies. That should make the WF 3 style display by default.
