    Silly Names

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by lordofhats, Feb 9, 2008.

I jsut had this idea. We've all met people who have some truely silly names haven't we? I figured we might as well see just how silly some names can be.

In the army I knew a man named.

Sergeant John Sergeant (Sergeant Sergeant lol :D)

    The king of the cakes was;

Private Michael Parts (Private Parts )

I feel sorry for that guy in highschool.

So have you ever met anyone with a silly name or do you yourself have a silly name?

    No. Seriously.

My last name being Ross, if I ever get one o' them small-type persons, I am seriously considering naming them Albert. (Think about it.)

At my highschool there was a pair of identical twins named Hassan and Hussan. It took me ages to figure out which was which. They used to switch classes and none of the teachers could tell.

There was also a veitnamese guy I knew whose name was Fuk (Fook) and his brother was named Lam (Lamb). Also, my auntie's boyfriend is named James Brown :D.

Because naming children after natural disasters is pushing it.

I know someone called Star and I know someone that named their daughter Starlena...pretty much the stranger of the names that I have heard. Though if I ever have a son- there's gona be a fight on. There's no way I am going to name my son either of the following: Phill Junior (because I want my children to have their own Identity), Rocky or Rambo. Never. Ever will I name my children these names! :p

An Indian actress goes by the name Dimple Khanna. No big.
Her sister goes by the name Simple Khanna.
And maybe there's a Krinkle Khanna too.

I want to see if there's anyone named "Thom" (pronounced "Tom"). If not, I'm naming someone that--I don't care if the legal system says I don't have the authority to do so. I grant myself the ability.

How about Thom Yorke of Radiohead?

I work with lots of oddly named people but Freek van Dijk takes some beating.

I once knew an incredibly beautiful brain-damaged girl named Crystal Wake. Not so much weird as awesome, actually.

I know a girl whose first and middle names are Precious Darling. Her mother's first and middle names were Golden Jewel.

One of my best friend's married name is Rose Bush.

My cousin had always wanted to name her first daughter Robin. Worked out well, except for the small problem that her married name was Blackbird.

In high school, many, many years ago, my best friend was named Thom. It sounds Scandinavian, eh? Well, he isn't. His family background is Italian.

As far as funny celebrity names go, the one that still gets me after many years is Slim Pickens. :)

One of my favorite books (Hero) has a main character called Thom Creed...which does sound like a pretty good superhero name when you get down to it.
