Hello, I was wondering if you could help me with something.

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by kaelyn, Nov 27, 2008.

Maybe, an idea for a new novel?

    Here is the criteria:

    --must be original
--must be able to craft love interest
--must be out of the ordinary
--characters must be able to be any age

Have fun. And please, PLEASE, dont hold out on me.

    kaelyn,

Ideas are the root tools of every writer. It is solely your imagination that provides the answers your seek. If you can't come up with these on your own, then perhaps you are not suited to be a writer. I would suggest this link as guidance:

I'm afraid I'm in agreement. Why would any writer give someone else an idea that they could use themselves? I'm all for creative commons, but still...

Writing I think is about having the confidence to fail all the criteria you listed. Those 'criteria' - originality, etc., all come with experience and experience comes from writing near-unreadable trash that nobody would ever read. Don't be afraid to write unoriginal stories with ordinary characters. It's the only way to get anywhere else...
