Where would a novelette be posted?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by Erato, Mar 5, 2012.

I mean, I know what a novelette is, I wrote one myself; I'd like to post it for critique once I'm allowed to. It's around 10,000 words. Does it go under Short Stories or Novels, and should it only be excerpted?

I would class a 10,000 word story as a novelette, but I think it's much too long to post here for critique. You should probably hold down your samples for critique to less than 2,000 words or so. The longer the sample, the fewer people will bother reading and critiquing it.

Yes, I am aware that it's a novelette, thanks; my question is, then: which category would I post an excerpt in? I guess you're saying Novels?

yes, 'novels'... since it's not a 'short story'...
