Does anyone know how high coast guard (united states) rescue planes cruise when searching?

Google and Wikipedia have failed me so I turn to you, fellow writers, to assist me in my quest for knowledge. I am wondering what the standard protocol for United States Coast Guard search planes is regarding cruising altitude during search and rescue operations. This is for fixed wing, not rotary wing aircraft. Any information is helpful.

Sometimes it's just the search string you are using rather than the lack of result.
