Okay, can't seem to update word count just yet. But got a bit of a start on my story. : 2,293 at the moment. But now taht i have my initial start, I am shifiting to planing stages and seeing where I am taking this story. This first book follows Maxwell as he tries to figure out who or what he is and the strange world that he is in, (This is a fanfic but only uses characters) the really fun ones will come in later editions. . Such as Fallout and Elder Scrolls books. . But this one is going to be an amalgamation of the strange ass dreams I have had and had the good fortune of remembering and putting down in my Dream Journal. Now just to mesh them to gether in a semi-cohesive story. To my planning notebook. Adios Amgios and Amigas. Edit: BTW...someone maybe making a guest spot in this story.. someone who SomeGuy is aware of . . .. . Edit: Updated my novel's info and put in an excerpt. It's in rough form so... yeah. it's in rough form.
I probably won't be able to buddy up with anyone for a couple-three days. But I will, when I get to it. My task on my night job this evening will be to decide for sure how the book should start. Then I can get the words down tomorrow.
@Edward M. Grant Added you Buddy!!! Also, writing my outline for my story. . Just now need to know how to write it. LOL
You won't be able to update your word count until midnight tonight (31st October) as that is when the event officially begins
Cool, Thanks A.S. Ford. My story keeps gett'n crazier and crazier. . I got Dream Enforcers, Nightmares, Eternal Army. IT's going to be one hell of a throw down.
Okay guys, I am going to reveal one of the Antagonists to my story... I hope you guys don't get overwhelmed by my masterful drawing skills. . Spoiler: Antagonist
I watched a live discussion for NaNoWriMo's prep-week, and the speakers said it doesn't matter at all how you do NaNo, it's just doing it. So don't worry about being detail-oriented with fancy outlines and whatnot, as many writers do their best work without any prep! I generally like basic outlines, but it's all up to the writer's personal preference. A lot of prep can definitely help in clarifying what to write, when to write it, how long it should be, etc. But as I said, it's personal preference! Go ahead and tackle NaNo with as little prep as possible, and I'm sure you'll have a blast. A torturous blast. But a blast none-the-less.
I'm going to have to wait to start until after my lectures. I've tried to do it quite a few times before, but I've never got further than 10,000 words. This time, I have a game plan! I've written the nearest I get to an outline: a list of everything that's going to happen. The idea is that it's one for each day, but I don't know how that's going to work when I actually start writing. I feel more confident this year, because last time I was trying to think and plan as well as write, and that's never going to work when you're on a time limit. The novel I'm attempting is set in the 1920s and follows a spoiled teenage girl who's sent to boarding school with her sister and stepsisters to make room for her stepmother's new baby. It mostly deals with her feelings about her father's remarriage and her quarrel with her stepsister, but she falls ill and starts looking into her family history - since her family used to own the school - which piques the interest of her stepsister - also ill - and opens up a proper dialogue between them. Wish me luck, guys, I'm going to need it.
You just need to keep updating the word count bar at the top of the site until the time when you can 'validate' that you've reached 50,000 words. If I remember correctly the 'validation' period happens within the last week of NaNoWriMo (November) and there will be a way to upload your entire document there
Decided last minute to do it this year. If anyone wants to find me, I'm under Todd.D.Anderson. Ready to get rolling!
Was planning to sit down and plan out for it on the first but it`s been a long day and even my plan to poke about the forums went ehh. I don`t really know where to go or place myself. There used to be a coffee house thread that I enjoyed the last few times but I can`t find that. I`ll sit down tomorrow and start hopefully. Maybe i`ll have to learn how to bend my writing time around the random unexpected events of the day. Maybe that`s what NANO will help me with this year.
Chapter 1 done in around 7,000 words. I have between 40 and 50 chapters in my outline so I sincerely hope that's not the average chapter length or I'm gonna need about 300,000-350,000 words...
Prologue and Ch1 came in at 11k+ I just did a quick word count on my notes and dialog... 225k This better pare down.! Yikes!
