As part of our ongoing push to improve the site you'll see that there are now three new boards in creative writing... dialogue development, descriptive development, and point of view and voice... the purpose of these should be self explanatory over the next few weeks we'll be moving a bunch of posts into these boards from General Writing and elsewhere, but please feel free to start using them Also you'll notice that Editing is now "revision and editing" and has moved into the creative section, and that Software is now Writing software and hardware. We've also moved the competition section to the top of the board as an experiment to see if it gets more entries and more votes Lastly the insights and inspiration forum which no one including staff really understood the purpose of has been emptied and hidden... the few posts that remained in it have either been turned into articles, turned into resources, or moved into the general writing section.
Following the late unpleasantness in the first three sentences thread (which we're not going to rehash here) these two threads First three sentences and Last three sentences, are now in the workshop, in a forum of their own. https://www.writingforums.org/community/3-sentences.207/ This is a special place with special rules a) no one can start a thread in this board b) The workshop rules on 2 for 1 crit do not apply to these two threads c) but conversely posts in these two threads will not add to your post count , or count for your two for one workshop ratio d) The excerpts are limited to 3 sentences...don't push the boundaries by posting 4 or 5 or whatever. Anything over three will be deleted, and if anyone makes a habit of it they'll be excluded from posting in those threads All other general forum rules continue to apply Since they are in the workshop it should be clear to all that anyone posting their first or last three sentences should expect critique on them
The three sentences are temporarily back in GW until we sort out the issues with the new workshop guardian...please be paitent
