    New girl on the block

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Tweeti6095, Apr 20, 2008.

Hello everyone. I am new to this site. I found it searching the sites. I am still trying to get around on here. I think this is a good thing for writers. I am interested in poetry, and non-fiction.
I took a home study writing course a few years back. I started it to see if I had it in me to write. I could not finish the course due to medical/family problems. I was hoping to get back into it again.
I think this site, should be a good source for writing. I was always told I had a gift for writing. I always love feed back. Maybe it will give me the motivation to write again. My goal is to write a book. Any input will help me out. Any helpful hints will be helpful to me.

    Thank-you

    Linda

Hello Linda, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well!

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!

Hello I'm having a problem uploading my work to be posted. I tried everything. I tried what you told me brick. Still no go. I trying to avoid typing the whole story line over again. I can cut, but not be able to paste. Just trying to see if there is a short cut. Anymore ideas for me? Sorry I'm a writer in training on this site. Thank you for any advice.
