HELLA new to this if you notice my fail beginning lol. Fresh out of high school and looking to get into the film industry, hopefully at UCLA. I was hoping I could reach out to improve my writing and check out amazing stories with this forum! Well, that's my introduction so far. I'm currently writing a screenplay for a community college class, so maybe I could get a couple pointers here and there and eventually make a great movie about it involving a romantic scene, played by me of course with Selena Gomez, that will make me millions! Just kidding. Sorta.
Welcome to the forum, Ray. Please have a look through the Forum Rules, and the FAQ as a start. Have fun! Wrey (Pronounced just like your name )
welcome, ray! i mentor aspiring screenwriters, so if you have any questions/problems you need help with before you've fulfilled the site requirements for getting work critiqued in our 'workshop' section, feel free to mail me for answers/opinions... i wish you the best of luck with getting into ucla, as it's one of the three best film schools in the country... if you need any help with application essays or sample scripts required for admission, i'll be happy to help [short of crossing the ethical line and doing any of the writing for you, of course]... meanwhile, enjoy being part of the best writing site on the internet... love and hugs, maia maia3maia@hotmail.com
@ReaperKnight Yup! There's already a lot of interesting topics in The Lounge lol. Hope you have fun too, since it kinda says you're still a New Member.
@mammamaia Thank you! Your help would be greatly appreciated! Do you have your own class or site online? UCLA is the ultimate goal, really, but people have been telling me horror stories about how competitive it is there. Thanks again!
no, i don't teach any standard 'class'... just help folks on an individual basis... and my website is in my sig info... don't let those 'horror stories' dissuade you... if it wasn't so competitive, it wouldn't be such excellent training for what is one of the most competitive careers one can enter... the film and television industries are probably the most competive fields in existence... on a par with professional sports... and if you have the talent and brains to get in, the connections you'll make there can take you to the uppermost heights, as they have for many oscar winners in all areas of the film biz... feel free to email me any time at all, for any reason at all... hugs, m
