Hi All, I am new to this forum so this is my first post. I am quite new to writing but I have completed a series of 12 children's stores. I have managed to get past the first hurdle with a publisher so am very pleased so far. I have much to learn and hope this community will be of benefit to me. Thanks, Eddie
Welcome Eddie Hodgson . I’m not sure if completing 12 children’s stories and getting past “the first hurdle” with a publisher necessarily makes you “new to writing”. In what language do you write your stories?
Thank you for the welcome. I write in English (even though I live in Hungary). I have written other stories also but have contacted a publisher about my series first of all. If they will take more than one then I will also submit my other stories to them.
Hi Eddie and welcome from me! I agree that having your stories on sub doesn't make you that much of a newbie, but this is a great forum for sharing and learning. Every day's a lesson. I hope that the forum is a benefit to you and I am sure that you will be a benefit to the forum!
Prepare yourself for some intense critiquing from all our members! .. and perhaps your publishers also?? We look forward to your contributions
One thing I would like to ask. How do I get sufficient permission to post a question in the Children's Forum?
So there’s a workshop section where you can post your story but you can’t post over there until 2 weeks of your membership and after critiquing 2 other stories. You’ll need to wait two weeks, therefore, before you can. If you wanted to ask a question, you can post the question somewhere else. That depends on what your question is about. Is it about character? Setting? Plot development? Publishing? There are different sections available. So it should be OK to post it.
2 weeks, 20 posts and 2 for 1 critiques new members can find the full info here https://www.writingforums.org/threads/new-member-quick-start-guide.132102/
