Next "Chatbox" Name Suggestions!

All right, here's the plan.


Cogito has given us permission to suggest the name for the next Chatbox, when that time arrives to make a new one. This is NOT a contest, it is a group of suggestions. Write what you'd like the next Chatbox to be named, and the moderators may pick one of the names for the next Chatbox. So get creative!


Mine so far are:

Churchill Grounds
The Cafe
The Coffee Shop

And those are just off the top of my head.

Keep in mind that the name should suggest a gathering place for light conversation. A name like "Churchill Grounds" does not convey the nature of the thread to a new visitor.

Nor should it suggest a place for cliques to hold "private" conversations. Conversations there should be inclusive of new joiners.

It is not a place for a few to dominate so that a new joiner would feel out of place. This is a problem right now. It should not be used to show off your latest cartoon, or to ask people to take a look at another thread you posted, or to hold mock weddings. It isn't for self-promotion, it is to break the ice and make newcomers feel welcome. They should NOT feel they have wandered into a private clubhouse without knowing the secret handshake.

In other words, keep in mind that the thread/room is a key gathering place for Community Interaction.

Why does everyone still have it set to ten posts per page?

I don't know what you're being all stern at us for, Cogito. We're a pretty welcoming bunch, and I can't think of any newcomers who haven't been welcomed readily. And if you thought the "chatbox weddings" were so inappropriate (honestly, I thought it was kinda ridiculous myself, but whatever), why didn't you say something before now?

 

WF Cafe is a good name in my opinion.

 

The "weddings" included a new member, so I'm not sure how they could discourage new members. Anyway, I kind of like the Tavern.

I like the idea of The Watering Hole. A lot of people, newcomers included, will know what that is. I vote Watering Hole!
