    Non Fiction

Discussion in 'Traditional Publishing' started by Henning, Apr 7, 2012.

    Hey guys,

I need some advice on publishing non fiction. A friend of mine has a book of letters that he'd like to get published, but it's hard for me to help since I'm a fiction writer and never looked into non fiction. Any of you know some legit agents that deal with that type of book?

    Thanks in advance!

Is your friend someone important? Honestly, I don't see any agents taking on a collection of letters from someone who isn't famous.

My bad I didn't mean it to sound like it was just random letters. Like I said I don't know much about non fiction, but if it's a well written story why give up? Something I've read over and over on this forum and on others was "If it's good someone will eventually notice".
    So, anyone willing to help?

all you/he need do is check the agent listings to see who handles 'epistolary' non-fiction... and/or go to any large bookstore and check what's on the non-fiction shelves and jot down the publishers of similar books...

i have several good agent listings i'll be glad to pass on if one of you drops me an email...

    love and hugs, maia

Wait - if it's a made-up story told in the form of letters, isn't it technically fiction?

It's a true story told through letters.

Maia, thank you so much, I just sent you an email. You're the best!
