    Hello!

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Ana Silva, Jan 3, 2015.

    Hello there!

My name is Ana, I'm 21 years old and I'm from Portugal. I live in the capital, Lisbon, where I study Law and work a part-time job at a small company.

I've loved writing ever since I was a little kid. I've always devoured books like I was the cookie monster devouring, well, cookies (duh) and I started writing a bunch of books when I was a teenager. However, I grew up, and because of university I was kind of forced to stop reading non-Law books and start studying Law books instead. It got to the point (as it does with every Law student, I assure you) where if I was reading some sort of other book, I would feel guilty.

However, the truth is that I've always had a very very fertile imagination and a certain plot would keep getting inside my head constantly. A few days ago I decided that I had to do something about that, so I started to write again. I started a blog about my extremely average life, and secretly started a book about the story in my head. I don't really care if it gets published or not, I just want to somehow give it life and stop it from being in my head every time I listen to music, every time I walk, everything.

Some people (dull, boring people, surely) might say I actually have a mental problem, seeing as I keep imagining myself in a different world doing all kinds of stuff and sometimes even crying about it (calm down, someone dies. Calm down), but I say I just have to write that story down and get it out (mostly) of my system.

Alright, I'm aware I just rambled way too much, so I'll just publish it and pretend it never happened.

    Nice to meet you all!

Hi, welcome to the forum. I live in my story when I'm writing it. And I live in books when I'm reading them as well.

    And welcome, @Ana Silva!
I'm pretty sure you will fit right in. There is nothing more wonderful about creating a story than living it.

    Cheers. :D

Hey! I can barely read that sarcasm font at the bottom. What if I had a 4k monitor or sat farther from the screen? But you're right; I should've been more sensitive: you make good manure.

I never said you were supposed to see that text, did I?
