I have seen the 10 O'clock Show yeah - very funny and refreshingly cynical - the way Channel 4 used to be! I saw George Gallaway on it a few weeks ago and he put a lot of people to shame. Are you aware of this guy? Without giving you any 'slant' on him you should find him on youtube, well worth investing some of your time on him.

Yeah, I know George Galloway, I loved seeing him and Ken Livingston on the show, the old reds :D I can't say I'm crazy about his attitudes towards women, but he is of that generation, I suppose. The only issue I have with him is that he goes to the other extreme on some issues, he is very passionate and can be biased. But he has a heart in the right place.

I didn't know he had 'other' views on women but I have listened to him many many times, always found him honest, funny, intelligent, very in-the-know and not afraid of anyone of his peers let alone PMs or Presidents of whatever committee/sub committee he is dragged before. Always holds his own in the face of any adversity and proud of his Irish roots - always a winner with me.

I think he has been disadvantaged by over exposure and because the powers-that-be keep him in their sights he is always open to demonization from 'their' news.

He's definitely a survivor, which is good to see because he was set up for disgrace more than once, without real success. All the causes he's been fighting for, war on poverty, socialism, everything I support as well. It was what he said in his comment about Julian Assange, then went on to make a really ignorant statement about rape, lost him a lot of female supporters, mainly because he refused to subsequently apologise. And his attitudes to Israel/Palestine conflict are completely one sided. I'm not saying he's wrong, I just hold a more balanced view.

    wow I just googled that

I think Julian Assange needs his own thread here seeing as he is celebrating his first anniversary in the Equadorian Embassy.
