Hi everybody - glad to be here. I'm a retired Swedish journalist, 70, enjoying good writing in both Swedish and English. Hope to be able to take part in a writing contest soon. Also working on a few ideas, non of which can be considered high literature. But maybe fun..:)
    Going now to explore further.

Welcome aboard! Swedish, eh? Can't speak or write it myself, but germanic languages always were the most interesting. I hope you enjoy the forums, what kind of stuff do you write? If you need any help with anything, please just ask. I'm always happy to offer a hand.

Welcome! I know a Swedish person or more, but not really into the language. We're all looking forward to your contribution for the contest. Have fun!

Hello Curte, Welcome to the Writing Forums. I think you probably hold a record for time between joining and first posting!

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners.

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room on this site, therefore, is a true workshop, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
