I was fiercely protective (and paranoid) of my first book before I published it. This second one, not so much until recently and I think that's because I'm coming to the end of the main draft and first set of rewrites (I re-write as I go along because I draft out of sequence.) I just sometimes get the feeling "surely I can't be the only one with this fab idea for a character?" OK, I'm being a bit big headed there but I bet if we were all honest, we would all admit to thinking the same thing at one time or another. x
I refuse to use cloud services on general principles. When I travel I carry USB hard disks and 64Gb thumb drives with me with my work.
