    I let my character's evolve ...

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by Nicholas Lawson, Mar 8, 2016.

I don't develop my character's I let them develop through situations. I base almost all of my characters on people I know or know of so when it comes to character development for me I enjoy writing what happens to my character's as opposed to thinking their thoughts. They are all based in part on me so when I write I am essentially taking different parts of myself and fusing them into characters that are original in nature but I understand my characters just like I understand my friends.

Interesting. I think it might have been good to make it more questioning or suggestive in phrasing though. To make it more suited to discussion rather than feeling like a blog post.
I do similar stuff. Less story oriented process but same attitude of real characters that you relate to.
