    Past Versus Present

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by Cacian, Dec 16, 2011.

I often get unsure between the two.

    If someone says:

I read the poem and I like it or liked it?

    should the reply be:

I am glad you like it.

    Or

I am glad you liked it.

    The question is

    1) Does the past in this instance means they do not like it anymore?

    2) Should I keep the present rather then past?

    Or

    3) is it to do with verbs because certain verbs express present and past at the same time?
