that is not a stupid question. If he had a really, really bad phobia of the color white and he had it his whole life, then he would probably be a really tormented soul. He would probably have very little peace and always be depressed and anxious. He should also realize that his phobia is not rational, but he still fears it anyway. He has probably missed out on a lot in life too and is reclusive, because keeping to himself in a dark enviroment is the only way to not face his fears.
